We are a ‘fee for service’ provider, meaning we are not paneled with any insurance companies. If you have ‘Out of Network Benefits’ we can provide you with a Superbill so that you can submit it to your insurance for reimbursement. Check out our free OON benefits guide to learn more.
Learn more about our decision not to panel with insurance on our Rates & Insurance page.
Yes! All you’ll need is a device (smartphone, tablet, or computer) and an internet connection and then it’s fairly simple to access sessions. First, you’ll need to access your HIPAA compliant client portal. Once you log in you should see the video session link. Sessions are similar to video calls like Facetime, Zoom, or Skype. Our team is happy to offer support should you need it.
We offer complimentary 15 minute phone consultations for 2 reasons:
They help us learn about your therapy goals, to ensure we feel that we are equipped to provide you with quality support
They are your space to ask questions and get to know us, ensuring that you feel a sense of rapport. Some FAQs we get are:
How often will we meet?
What are your specialties?
What is your therapy style?
How have you supported clients like me in the past?
How will I know I’m making progress?
How long should I expect to be in therapy?
Absolutely! There is research that reports that the therapeutic relationship is a key indicator of success. We want to ensure that you feel connected and comfortable with your therapist. Should you feel that it’s not the right fit, please let us know and we can recommend someone at our practice, or provide referrals for additional practitioners.
Yes, ask that clients provide at least 24 hours notice in the event that they need to cancel to avoid the 25% cancellation fee. We understand that things happen, and we do our best to reschedule.
For your first session, all you really need to do is complete your paperwork and show up! We also suggest preparing by thinking about your goals, what brought you to therapy, and why you made initial contact with us.
For additional sessions, we recommend keeping a journal, or taking notes during sessions, and between sessions. Jotting down things that you want to talk about, patterns you observe, or themes in your life help us make the most of our time together.
Yes! We all have different preferences, so while some people prefer in person sessions, others prefer the convenience of virtual therapy. Research shows that online therapy can be as effective as in person therapy, and is particularly beneficial for issues like anxiety, depression, and stress management.
Life happens, we get it! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please be sure to contact your provider at least 24 hours in advance to avoid our cancellation fee.
